The Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy (NSGP) is a nonprofit interdisciplinary professional organization for clinicians interested in group therapy and group dynamics. Founded in 1956, we have spent seventy years fostering a vibrant community of practitioners dedicated to the art and science of group psychotherapy.

Our members include psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals at all stages of their careers, from students and early-career clinicians to seasoned practitioners. We serve members throughout New England, and beyond.

NSGP's mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas about group psychotherapy, encourage the development of sound training, maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice, and disseminate information to professionals and the public.

We pursue this mission through a range of programs and activities, including our annual conference, training offerings, mentorship program, scholarships, and a calendar of events open to members and non-members alike. Much of this work is carried out by our volunteer committees, whose members bring their time and expertise to the areas of the organization that matter most to them.

Whether you are looking to deepen your practice, earn continuing education credits, connect with colleagues, or become more active in the professional community, NSGP has something to offer. We invite you to explore our programs, attend an event, or become a member and get involved.
