This documentary explores a compassion lens and group process approach that helps people, often survivors of trauma, whose fear has led them to extremist beliefs and activity. The organization, Life After Hate, founded by ex-White Nationalists and ex-Neo-Nazis, helps people leave hate groups, recover, and reintegrate into their families and society.

The aims of this event are to

  • Explore how macrocosm of societal issues is present in microcosm of educational and therapeutic contexts
  • Examine how trauma and unprocessed fear contribute to risk in being recruited by extremist groups
  • Offer a trauma informed and compassion based lens as a possible means for healing and addressing hate in our work
  • Learn about possible resources for those with whom you might work who are impacted by hate groups
Please be aware film content is related to extremist racist and anti-Semitic groups and can be difficult to view. To view the trailer click here https://youtu.be/E2B9ugeccPk
