JANUARY BREAKFAST CLUB

Abuse of Power in Groups:

Leadership, Followership, and Protective Factors

Presented by Sasha Watkins, M.A., LMHC, CPRP

Sunday, January 13th from 11:00 to 1:30 pm

Current world events offer a plethora of examples of the destructive power of groups. What are the alternatives? Reflecting on the work by Stanley Milgram (obedience to authority) and Zimbardo's work (Stanford Prison experiment), as well as own clinical and professional practice, Dr. Pepper and Sasha discuss factors and leadership interventions that can protect therapeutic groups from the re-enactments of the abuse of power found in larger groups, such as organizations and societies.
