THE ANNE ALONSO 
SCHOLARSHIP

The Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy Foundation is pleased to continue to fund the Anne Alonso Scholarship. 

Anne Alonso was a co-founder of the General Psychiatry Practice at the Massachusetts General Hospital. From that platform, she advocated and taught group psychotherapy to thousands. She published some of the Bellwether articles in our field. She was very active in both the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy and the America Group Psychotherapry. She was the President of both organizations. If you are a member of NSGP, you have been influenced and informed by Anne Alonso, if not by her, then by your teachers whom she influenced. 

The opportunity to attend group therapy training at NSGP offers a truly extraordinary learning experience. These scholarships will be given to clinicians who demonstrated an interest in group work and the potential for leadership. They are intended to provide significant financial assistance so that group therapy training is possible. Partial or full scholarships are available for the NSGP Annual Conference and for the NSGP Training Program.

Applications will be reviewed with the following considerations:

• Need for financial assistance 
• Passion for group psychotherapy
• Completed and strong application
• Interest and willingness to invest in NSGP and its mission
• Show how attending a training program or the conference will provide you with knowledge, skills, and contacts that will benefit your professional community.

Apply for the Anne Alonso Scholarship:

Deadline For Conference Awards: end of March

1. Register for the conference or training program you are interested in attending. Select the "Invoice Me" option and do not submit payment.
2. Fill out the scholarship application (link below).  Your application will be automatically submitted to the committee. Scholarship applications are reviewed on a weekly basis.
3. When you receive confirmation of your scholarship and the amount, NSGP will adjust the amount of your original invoice and you will receive notice to submit payment for the balance due.
